The Way We Were – Kawasaki GPz550 H2

Dave Palmer says he bought the LC you see here (below) after passing his test in 1982 on a Honda 250RS. He says: “The LC was one of my favourite bikes and like many I wish I still had it. The GPz was sold for a GPz600R. The LC pic was taken in 1983-4 , it had polished cases and clip-ons, note my green cords, cowboy boots and Alien lid, I was the height of fashion back then. NOT! The GPz550H2 UniTrack pic was from about 1984-5 and I had progressed to white baseball boots! This too was later subjected to clip ons. In those days you moved up the engine size/ peed scale, 250,350,550 etc. Both pics taken by my mate on a 110 camera with film! I’m now riding a 350 Goose, the one featured in Oct 2014 issue and ridden by your own Scoop!
