“The tax disc showed 30.06.89 and the bike looked in a sorry state. It came with several parts missing and an ASDA carrier bag with a huge pick ‘n’ mix selection of assorted parts including the carbs and electrics. I did some homework on the web and managed to identify the model. While contacting breakers I was fortunate enough to encounter Ian Powell who has been involved with the Z400 website for some years and has huge knowledge on the Kawasaki twins,” explains Roy.
“I became a reluctant bidder on eBay, which has been invaluable. Getting good usable parts was a challenge and most came from the UK, USA, California and Germany. I completed the 2400 on 15 June 2010 and taxed it from 1 July. I’m not a professional, I just like a challenge!”
