Q: My lovely 1975 Suzuki GT250 has lately started to smoke quite heavily from the right hand exhaust pipe. I took a look at the spark plugs and they both appear fine and similar.

Drooling time over, I went to the Dyno Day feature at Gibson Exhausts and was greeted with some tastily restored Fizzies – and a blatant lie, as I think I could have been CMM’s youngest reader...
Q&A: A not so idle idle

Q: My problem is that when I start my 1975 Honda CB550K1 (no: cb550L-1060824) it will not tick over properly. Once warmed-up it will tick over at 1250rpm then without any throttle will fly up to 3000rpm stay there for a few seconds then slowly return to 1250rpm then die.
